RX 18 pinouts

Still wasn't working when installed in the tank so decided to go back to basics and rewire it and remove the IR plug socket arrangment in the turret (well wasn't like you could unplug it unless the turret was in bits)

Using the top diagram I've deviated slightly
1 - Positve supply from the battery? linked this to the positive common on the elvation motor.
2 - Bottom diode (inline in firing cable) not installed works with out, not certain reason for it.

So far recoil complete with auto return works so does the LED muzzle flash and cannon noise. Not installed the IR wiring yet but that's next to try.

Hi Sounds like your getting there,if you have the recoil and flash with the sound,the I,R should work.

.P.S. take lots of photos and store them ,for the next tank.Number of times I have had to take a tank apart to look at how its wired is unreal.

Update.

Everything stopped working controller no longer worked anything

Not quite certain but the flash LED blew, disconnected it and it started working again

So here a picture of the modified wiring


I do a sketch of it and upload to help explain.

Not certain if I damaged the RX18 but couldn't get the flash LED to work the way it was wired before so I decided to wire it from the recoil trigger (fire) cables with a 100 ohm resistor. As I blew the white LED I thought a use the red one from the airsoft working LED which works well.

Will upload a video in a bit to show it.

Here's a sketch of how I wired it.



Not 100% if i've drawn the diode correct way round but I've found it doesn't damage anything if install it wrong way just doesn't work. Also other post I've seen 22ohm resistor for the recoil motor and 68ohm for the LED used but those are what I had and work fine for me.

Cheers Rob,

I like this method as there is no extra wires between the hull top and bottom. Unlike the Asiatam one which has a thick negative lead directly to the battery.

Also started making another one last night all from memory and apart from the silly clutch slipping went ok.
